My Sunday Service Posting ....

.... will be delayed until Monday evening.

I will not be at Thurmont Church of the Brethren on Sunday morning,
so I will not be able to post the Sunday church service until Monday evening.
I am sorry for the delay, but I will be spending time with family.
Please come back  to this blog on Monday evening.
Have a blessed weekend.

Homework assignment for Memorial Day Sunday...

What will your legacy be? How will you be remembered, once you are gone?
Pastor Linda would like you to think about this for Sunday, May 26th for our Memorial Service.
If you would like a loved one to be remembered in the service, fill out the form from the Sunday Bulletin, and send it to the church in care of Pastor Linda, or drop in the offering plate.
You may order flowers, a carnation or a rose in a bud vase, or you may bring flowers from home, to be placed at the alter in memory of anyone you would like to remember in this special service.
Or, if you would like, you may donate money to TREES FOR LIFE, a non-profit, people-to-people movement that plants fruit trees to help hungry people and protect the environment.
Simply mark your envelope and place it in the offering plate.
Copy this form or get a copy from the church bulletin:

Put On Your Christian Clothes

Happy Mothers Day!

I have always loved this song. Growing up in the Lutheran church in the late 1960's and 1970's, we would sing it often. We also sang it at the Lutheran summer camp where I worked for two summers. This is a terrific feel good song.
The song reminds me of Colossians 3:15-17

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Becky Henry gave us a wonderful sermon from Colossians 3: 1-17, about how we should wear our "Christian Clothes".
